New Part Templates

New Part Templates can be used to simplify and efficiently create new Symbols and Footprints.

New Part Templates can used to create consistently designed footprints that use the same preferred Mechanical Layers.

Also fewer steps (clicks) are required when creating and saving new Symbols and Footprints that were started by opening and editing New part templates.

Example:  New.PcbLib with embedded preferences

In the Download of the free Parts Database Library you will find an example of a New Part Component that has a New.PcbLib and New.SchLib template.

You may be thinking Altium already has templates. However, by starting a new part from the suggested New Part template you will save yourself a few mouse clicks when you save the newly created footprint or symbol.

That's it !
